About Us

Two lines of people facing each other and waving their arms in a game for INSET workshop

Who is PACT Creative Training?

We formed PACT Creative training to bring the restorative power of play into every aspect of life, and in particular to introduce benefits of play into the workplace environment to support wellbeing, confidence and great team/client relationships.

Jess Shaw

Jess is the founder of PACT Creative Training. Jess uses humour, play and improvisation as tools for transformative sessions offering support around themes such as Team Building, wellbeing, confidence building and conflict resolution. Jess has 20 years’ experience working with adults, children and young people in a wide range of settings such as companies, charities, schools, prisons, youth centres, alternative education provisions and universities. Jess is a true believer in using fun and playfulness in order to create a safe space to share and learn.

Jess also contributes articles on the benefits of play to Psychologies Magazine’s expoert blogging platform Lifelabs. Have a look at Jess’ Lifelabs articles.

Monique Howie

Monique is a Child/Adolescent Psychotherapist. As well as having a private practice she has 13 years’ experience working in Primary Schools using play and creative resources to work therapeutically with children in groups and one to one to gain listening skills, develop empathy, explore/manage difficult feelings and behaviours. Monique has a passion for the use of play between staff and children to shift negative patterns of relating and to enhance all the aspects of learning in school life.

In addition to their private work, both facilitators spent 10 years with Kids Company, the former children’s charity, working with children, supporting teaching staff and creating and running training for volunteers which formed a compulsory part of the application process to volunteer with the organisation.

INSET workshops are a collaborative creation of Jess and Monique.

What People Say

  • Thank you Jessica Shaw @ PACT for facilitating such an amazing experience. What a way to spend a morning with colleagues; LAUGHING, a lot. We all had a great time, feel less stressed and even closer as a team. I wish we’d done this sooner and I’m already being asked when you’re coming in again! Sharing this because I think the work you do is awesome and strongly recommend other teams/companies give it a go

Liberate yourself through play - the facilitator needs to play too! Last week I had the pleasure of attending the People's Virtual Playground run by @amyadventurepro & @garyware perhaps you can see by my face in the pic how much I needed this; #play heals, connects, transforms.
